Dr. Preeya Shah

Dr. Karin S. Linthicum

Dr. Preeya T. Shah is a board-certified dermatologist, born and raised in West Virginia. She developed her love for science early on, which led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience at Oberlin College, where she also enjoyed her time on the women’s tennis team. She continued her education at Marshall University, earning both a master’s degree in biomedical sciences and her medical degree from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. Throughout medical school, Dr. Shah served as Class President, took part in numerous community outreach efforts, and published her research in various peer-reviewed medical journals. She also presented her work at local, regional, and national medical conferences. She was honored with membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honors Society and the Gold Humanism Honors Society, receiving the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award upon graduation.

Dr. Shah completed her internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia, followed by her Dermatology residency, where she served as Chief Resident. She is passionate about treating patients of all ages, with particular expertise in pediatric and medical dermatologyskin cancer surveillance, and dermatologic surgery. Her patient care philosophy is simple: she believes in helping people feel comfortable in their own skin and treats her patients with the same kindness and respect she would offer to her own family.

When she’s not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Shah enjoying time with family and friends, staying active, traveling, or happily walking her dog.”
